MetroPCS’ Linquist Takes Top Entrepreneur Award

Roger D. Linquist, the President, CEO, and Chairman of Richardson-based MetroPCS Communications, has scored the top prize in the Ernst & Young National Entrepreneur Of The Year program. According to Ernst & Young, Linquist was named the winner of the Ernst & Young National Entrepreneur Of The Year 2011 Media, Entertainment and Communications Award, which recognized leaders for their efforts in building businesses. E&Y said the award went to Linquist for “overcoming the challenges of competing against the telecommunications industry giants using unconventional business practices”. Linquist was honored along with a number of CEOs in various industry segments; the top award was given to Reid Hoffman and Jeff Weiner of LinkedIn.
