Richardson Second In State As “Best Place to Raise Your Kids”

BusinessWeek magazine recently ranked the City of Richardson second in the state of Texas as the best, most affordable place to raise children. The magazine partnered with OnBoard Informatics, a Manhattan-based provider of real estate analysis, to determine each state’s best affordable cities for raising children. The key factors in the analysis were school performance, affordability and safety. The study also considered cost of living, air quality, job growth, racial diversity, local parks, ball fields, zoos, recreation centers, museums and theaters. School performance and safety were weighted heavily, as were amenities and affordability.  Only cities with populations of more than 50,000 and median household incomes between $40,000 and $100,000 were ranked.
