100 commercial real estate professionals attend data center leasing breakfast

Apr 12, 2012

Nearly 100 D-FW commercial real estate professionals attended the Richardson Broker-Developer Series data center breakfast on March 7. Digital Realty, Stream Data Centers and ViaWest sponsored the breakfast.

Tommy Nelson of Stream Realty moderated a panel discussion entitled “Data Centers – What They Don’t Tech You in Real Estate School.” Panelists Bryan Marsh of Digital Realty, Anthony Bolner of Stream Data Centers and John Greenwood of ViaWest discussed the rapidly growing data center market.

The purpose of the breakfast was to provide an overview of the data center business from a commercial leasing perspective, and to encourage brokers to add a new skill set to their business by learning more about the data center market. The panelists discussed their respective companies’ Richardson operations, defined key concepts and terminology related to data center leasing, and explained how brokers can represent clients seeking data center space and services.

Three door prizes were awarded via a social media contest: Rounds of golf at Canyon Creek Country Club and Sherill Park Golf Course and a $50 gift card to be used at III Forks, Silver Fox Steakhouse or Cool River Café. The lucky winners were Tim Veler of Transwestern, Alex Reedy of Citadel Partners and Rosanne Meier of Colliers International.

A special thanks to Page Southerland Page, the 2012 Broker-Developer Series Sponsor, and to the breakfast sponsors for making the event possible. The Richardson Broker-Developer Series is a quarterly event organized by the Richardson Economic Development Partnership showcasing Richardson buildings. The event is open only to commercial real estate brokers, developers and invited guests.
