Richardson’s Economic Development Plan lays out a bold vision for the City’s future, focusing on diversification, innovation, infrastructure, and quality of life.

Position Richardson as a vibrant innovation hub, supporting early-stage and high-growth companies through tactical strategic partnerships and networking.

  • Goal B1: Develop partnerships which sustain programming supporting innovative startup activity and local entrepreneurs.

Promote growth through strategic infrastructure projects and encourage reinvestment in key areas to create cohesive development that builds on unique assets and competitive strengths.

  • Goal C2: Conduct a holistic redevelopment plan for redevelopment target areas and partner with private industry to encourage TOD offerings near DART stations.

Encourage quality of life and place improvements through placemaking enhancements and diverse cultural amenities to attract businesses and the talented individuals who fuel them.

  • Goal D1: Support destination-oriented retail and entertainment, leveraging Richardson’s existing cultural assets to create a strong sense of place.

  • Goal D2: Promote Richardson as a destination by continuing to promote the arts, music, festivals, and sports and leisure activities.
