Through Q3 2019 Richardson has recorded 25 expansions and relocations that will result in the addition of 3,547 new and retained jobs and the occupancy of 1,877,310 SF of office, flex and industrial space. The largest amount of that space will come when Texas Instruments builds the 870,000-square foot R-Fab II in the coming years.

DXC Technology – This is the latest version of Ross Perot’s iconic EDS which was acquired by Hewlett-Packard and then spun out as a separate company a few years ago. One of the world’s largest independent IT services and solutions providers, DXC has over 6,000 public and private sector customers in 70 countries and 130,000 employees. A key to closing the deal was Richardson fast-track permitting process.
Common Desk – Nick Clark’s fast-growing coworking concept will be open at 3400 North Central Expy. (same address as DXC) early next year, making it the 6th coworking operation in Richardson. With a half floor of 31,500 SF, it will also be the largest.
Hedera Hashgraph aka Swirlds: Hedera Hashgraph, a Distributed Ledger Technology company, was honored a couple of weeks ago at the Richardson Chamber’s 2019 EDGE Awards for “Entrepreneurship”. It’s the first Richardson start-up company in well over a decade to have garnered over $100 million in equity capital before getting into full gear. It shares the same address as Common Desk and DXC.
Brazen Animation (digital imagery and communication apps), Infinera (photonic integrated circuits), PeopleFun (mobile phone game apps) and Evergaze (optical devices) all have something in common – they chose the Richardson Innovation District to continue their quest for new ideas and products. With new, more flexible zoning in the near future and many other strategic improvements to the area in the long-term game plan, the to-be-named Innovation District will likely see many more cutting edge companies setting up shop there.
2019 has proven to be a great year for assembling the kind of companies in Richardson that will be in tomorrow’s headlines.
