The Lennox Industries facility in Stuttgart, Ark. received the top honor for Operational Excellence in the American Manufacturing Strategy Awards. The Richardson, Texas-based manufacturer of residential and commercial HVAC equipment beat out Proctor and Gamble and Sunny Delight Beverages Company for the manufacturing honor.

The American Manufacturing Strategy Awards (AMSA) celebrate excellence in all aspects of production, including lean manufacturing, innovation, operational excellence, and sustainability. Lennox took the top spot in the Operational Excellence category due to its significant waste reduction and high level of customer satisfaction, according to AMSA judges. The panel also said Lennox displayed a company-wide culture of accountability and responsibility that in turn increases productivity.

“We are honored to receive such a high recognition for our operational achievements,” said Albert King, plant manager. “Our team remains committed to its best-in-class strategy to create constant improvement, targeting all key business needs and customer satisfaction while focusing on waste reduction and environmental sustainability through consistent development initiatives.”

The 750,000-square-foot Lennox Stuttgart facility builds a variety of commercial air conditioning and heating products, including packaged rooftop units, split system and units heaters for the domestic and international market. It is also the site of the North American Distribution Center, servicing regional distribution centers throughout the U.S. and Canada. The facility employs more than 1,000 workers during peak summer season.
