Cariloop of Richardson last night won $15,000 in cash — up from an initial $10,000 — in Dallas’ Startup Jackpot competition.

The competition was part of Dallas’ first-ever national angel investor conference. The Dallas Entrepreneur Center (the DEC) and Washington, D.C.-based Startup Angels hosted the two-day Angel Summit, which ended yesterday. I wrote about the conference on Wednesday.

Initially 90 startups applied to participate in the Startup Jackpot. Ten semi-finalists competed Wednesday at the DEC’s Startup Workshop. The audience chose five finalists to continue on to yesterday’s final round. I blogged about the five finalists yesterday.

Each finalist yesterday had four minutes to pitch their idea to a panel of judges. Cariloop, a Richardson-based company that matches families of seniors with the best care and services based on their needs, won.

Cariloop has been on a fund-raising roll. That happened in November, when the startup received $30,000 in seed funding as part of Health Wildcatters’ Accelerator program. Then in June, Cariloop raised $150,000 from family and friends and $270,000 in an angel round led by Green Park & Golf Ventures, a Dallas-based angel investment firm.

Trailblazer Capital, a Dallas-based venture capital firm and a sponsor of the DEC, provided $10,000 in prize money and $5,000 came from other sources. Cariloop also won about $35,000 in in-kind prizes.
