Construction on a new corporate campus for one of Raytheon’s business units has been completed within the $1.5 billion CityLine mixed-use development near North Central Expressway and the President George Bush Turnpike in Richardson.The nearly two-and-a-half year construction project has brought a new three-building, nearly 500,000-square-foot corporate campus to CltyLine, which also houses the Bloomington, Illinois-based State Farm Insurance’s regional hub.

To get it done on budget and schedule, the development team had to overcome numerous challenges, such as record rainfall this spring in North Texas,said Phil Sharp, senior vice president with KDC, the Dallas-based master developer of CityLine. In all, the Raytheon project lost over 60 days because of rainy weather and muddy site conditions, officials said.
At the peak of the campus construction, the project employed roughly 500 construction workers who logged 525,000 man hours. To build the campus, the team had to bring in 133 tilt-wall panels, 27,158 yards of concrete and nearly 500 miles of cable.Adolfson & Peterson Construction was the general contractor on the project. Dallas-based HKS was the architect of the campus.
