A Dallas-based development firm has started construction on the initial phase of Fox Creek Park at the $1.5 billion CityLine mixed-use development in Richardson, which is also home to the regional hub for State Farm Insurance.

The initial phase includes 11 acres of the 17-acre park, which will join CityLine Park within the corporate magnet.

By providing ample green space to this part of Richardson, KDC will ensure CityLine residents, workers and visitors will have plenty of areas to enjoy exploring, said Walt Mountford, an executive vice president for KDC.

Fox Creek Park will join CityLine Park and CityLine Plaza upon completion of its first phase slated for the end of the year.

TBG Partners of Austin designed the park, which will be located along the east side of CityLine near Renner Road and Foxboro Drive.

The initial phase of the project includes a 75-foot pedestrian and cyclist bridge, playgrounds, a covered pavilion, limestone benches, hike-and-bike trails and ornamental planting beds.

The two parks are part of the city’s initiative to have a pocket park location within walking distance of every neighborhood in the city.

KDC is also working on other city-involved projects in North Texas, including McKinney’s new Gateway project — which is expected to bring another corporate magnet development to the region.
