Restaurant activity in
is at an unprecedented level this year with announcements at CityLine, CityLine
Market, W. Campbell Corridor, Coit Road Corridor and at the long-awaited
on S. Central Expressway.
For those of you keeping track, here is a current roster of new leases. Please
note many of the openings aren’t expected until mid-fall or early 2016:

We are
pleased to announce that Hermansen Land Development has finalized their
Expressway, site of the former
Continental Inn and several adjacent properties. The first tenants to sign leases are The Rock Wood Fired Kitchen, with locations
in Washington, Colorado, and
most recently in Fort Worth and Wylie, and VertsKebap,
an Austin-based fast casual
restaurant. Verts began in 2012 by two UT Austin students who combined the
Turkish kebab with German street food called döner kebap. Watch for site work/demolition and construction to begin later this year with more announcements, too!

cuisine in a modern quick serve setting in the Post Apartments ground floor

street from Urban Eatz. Also, watch for a replacement for
Eastrich
Shopping Center at the NE corner of E. Campbell and N. Plano Road has two new restaurants: Jamaica Cabana, a casual lunch
and dinner restaurant serving Jamaican specialties such as curried lobster,
spicy jerk pork, roasted snapper, and braised cow’s feet, and LA Burger, a fast casual concept that
mixes American fare with Korean fusion.

More Retail Development
A new retail/office building will begin construction later this summer on
North Star. This remaining tract is being developed by Doug Huey Investments and pre-leased by Joey Keffler with the
Weitzman Group. Joey has one remaining space to
lease in the two-building, 16,000-square-foot project. This structure will
complete development on the original twelve-acre site.
The buildings
on the southbound frontage of N. Central Expressway between the Taco Cabana and Café
have been purchased by Kovest Realty. The site is now called Campbell Way, and the former Half Price Books building remodel is already underway with a new tenant in the works. Joey Keffler is also
marketing this property.
