First half of 2015 reveals unprecedented number of restaurant announcements

Restaurant activity in Richardson
is at an unprecedented level this year with announcements at CityLine, CityLine
Market, W. Campbell Corridor, Coit Road Corridor and at the long-awaited Richardson
Restaurant Park

on S. Central Expressway. 

For those of you keeping track, here is a current roster of new leases. Please
note many of the openings aren’t expected until mid-fall or early 2016:

 
CityLine on State Street, ground floor of State Farm buildings


Jasper’s, Coal Vines-A Pizza Pasta
& Wine Bistro, Tom+Chee, Sushi Edoko & Robato,
Top Pot Doughnuts, Nestle’s Toll House Café, KinKin Urban Thai, Bite City Grill, Good Union Urban BBQ, Starbucks
and Subway.

 

CityLine Market on NE corner of Renner Road and N. Plano Road  

Anchored by
Whole Foods Market, this center will feature Smashburger, Fish City Grill,
Taco Diner, Luna Grill, ModMarket
and Pei Wei.

 

W. Campbell Corridor

Shop Companies’ remodel of the
former Luby’s in Canyon Creek
Shopping Center
on W.
Campbell
will feature Torchy’s
Tacos
and Tokyo Joe’s, with up to two more tenants
also in the works. SC purchased the adjacent buildings on either side for future
remodeling.

On the south side of W.
Campbell
in front of Sprouts and Richardson Bike Mart, a Starbucks/
Pei Wei dual building should be ready by
late summer. The Chicken Express on the north side next
to the Braum’s is also scheduled to open later this summer.

 

Coit Road Corridor

Monta Ramen, a new addition to
our restaurant scene from Las Vegas,
is working on its interior finish
out at their first DFW location at 800 N. Coit Road
in Promenade North Shopping Center.

on S. Coit at Belt
Line Road
, two new restaurants will be opening later this summer: Las Brisas Mexican Grill and WingBucket, adding to this Weitzman-owned center’s restaurant line up
that includes Jason’s Deli, Big Shucks Seafood
& Oyster Bar, Madras Pavilion and Taco y Vale.

Richardson Restaurant Park
 
 
 

We are
pleased to announce that Hermansen Land Development has finalized their Restaurant
Park
site in the 700 block of S. Central
Expressway, site of the former
Continental Inn and several adjacent properties. The first tenants to sign leases are The Rock Wood Fired Kitchen, with locations
in Washington, Colorado, and
most recently in Fort Worth and Wylie, and VertsKebap,
an Austin-based fast casual
restaurant. Verts began in 2012 by two UT Austin students who combined the
Turkish kebab with German street food called döner kebap. Watch for site work/demolition and construction to begin later this year with more announcements, too!

Eastside, located on the
corner of Campbell/75, has two new restaurants: Bawarchi Biryani Point Indian Cuisine, which features pan-Indian
cuisine in a modern quick serve setting in the Post Apartments ground floor
close to Greenville Avenue
entrance, and Zen Sushi which will open next month across the
street from Urban Eatz. Also, watch for a replacement for Bikinis Sports Bar and Grill later this summer.

           

Eastrich
Shopping Center at the NE corner of E. Campbell and N. Plano Road has two new restaurants: Jamaica Cabana, a casual lunch
and dinner restaurant serving Jamaican specialties such as curried lobster,
spicy jerk pork, roasted snapper, and braised cow’s feet, and LA Burger, a fast casual concept that
mixes American fare with Korean fusion.

 

Richardon’s First Brewery 

Four Bullets BreweryRichardson’s first brewery at 640 N. Interurban, is now open for tastings! They currently serve Two Pairs Pale Ale, Royal Flush Red Ale, Black Jack Brown Ale. Tours, tastings and pints available on Saturdays from 12:00 noon to 6:00 p.m.

location with a new 7,000-square-foot showroom next to Dollar Tree and Richardson

will open the end of
July in the former Albertson’s space on E. Belt Line at Plano
Rd.


More Retail Development

A new retail/office building will begin construction later this summer on E. Renner Road at
North Star. This remaining tract is being developed by Doug Huey Investments and pre-leased by Joey Keffler with the
Weitzman Group. Joey has one remaining space to
lease in the two-building, 16,000-square-foot project. This structure will
complete development on the original twelve-acre site.

 

The buildings
on the southbound frontage of N. Central Expressway between the Taco Cabana and Café Brazil
have been purchased by Kovest Realty. The site is now called Campbell Way, and the former Half Price Books building remodel is already underway with a new tenant in the works.  Joey Keffler is also
marketing this property.
