Fossil Inc. reported a second-quarter net income increase of 12 percent, citing strong wholesale sales, especially in Asia.

A strong U.S. dollar, however, did cut the Richardson-based company’s worldwide sales by $21.4 million for the quarter.

The watch and accessory maker reported new income of $57.3 million, compared to $51.4 million in 2011. Sales for the company grew 14 percent to $636.1 million, compared to $556.7 million in 2011.

Fossil expects earnings per share for the fiscal year of $5.29 to $5.34.
