Happy Hippie’s new home in Richardson, its first publicly accessible brick-and-mortar location, is another example of purposeful adaptive reuse projects in the area and will be renovated with the support of the City of Richardson. The taproom is expected to open in August or September of this year, joining other Lockwood destinations such as Communion Coffee Café, Greenville Avenue Pizza Company, Lockwood Distillery and Monkey King Noodle Company.

“We are excited for Happy Hippie to join the CORE District’s budding Lockwood area,” said City Manager Don Magner. “Happy Hippie will be a perfect addition to the eclectic and vibrant mix of businesses that are being cultivated in the CORE District and are providing more opportunities for residents and visitors to engage in our community.”

Founded by Michael Frederick in 2017, Happy Hippie is committed to fresh, delicious craft beer created with care and good vibes that bring people back to a time of peace and love. The company was recognized by D Magazine’s “Beer Issue” in May 2022 and as one of the essential craft breweries in Dallas by Thrillist.

The brewery will have a spacious taproom with indoor and outdoor seating and performance stages for live music.
