More shopping, Raytheon offices on the drawing board for KDC’s Richardson project

Developer KDC’s Richardson project that surrounds the new State Farm Insurance regional campus could wind up to be one of Dallas’ largest suburban developments.

Construction has been underway for months on the three, 1.5 million square foot office buildings that will house thousands of State Farm Workers.

And late in October KDC unveiled more details for the more than 180-acre development it’s calling Cityline.
Along with State Farm, first phase will include more than 92,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space, a 150-room hotel and 520 apartments.

But there’s even more.

Site plans for the development at Plano and Renner Roads near North Central Expressway show what KDC has planned for the east side of the project.

A 17-acre shopping center will be constructed at the northeast corner of Renner and Plano that will open in mid-2015.

Retail real estate brokers say that Whole Foods Market is the likely anchor for that shopping project.

KDC is already cutting the roads and laying utilities on the east side of Plano Road to access that area.

That’s also where a deal is in the works with Raytheon to build a more than 600,000 square foot regional office campus that will be at the southwest corner of Wyndham Lane and the Bush Turnpike.

The Raytheon complex is also planned for a 2015 opening, according to KDC’s development plans.
