Richardson’s retail activity for 2016 continues to add restaurants,
retail services, fitness and entertainment venues. As strong office and flex leasing brings more
employers and their workers to the city, the retail sector certainly reflects
that growth and demand with higher occupancy and increasing rental rates.

Asian Cookhouse at Richardson
Restaurant Park on S Central Expressway has their sign up and is completing
their tenant finish-out. They anticipate opening later this fall.
· Halal
Guys, the popular food truck concept from New York.
is also winding up their finish-out and has their hiring/coming soon sign up.
· First Watch, the Daytime Café, owned by a Florida-based restaurant group, acquired The Egg and I restaurants
last year. The Richardson location is at 930 E Campbell. Their concept is similar to Egg
and I, serving breakfast and lunch from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. daily. The name
change took place over the summer.

· Chick-fil-A was approved by the City Council for the SE
corner of Renner/Plano Rd (vacant lot). Chick-fil-A typically generates more
sales tax than your average sit-down restaurant, even with their Sunday
closing.

Mediterranean Buffet at 310 E Main
St opened next door to Afrah’s old building. The building owners did an
extensive remodel on this facility and their investment in this Richardson
property is appreciated.
| FreePlay Richardson at 1730 E Belt Line is a local concept offering 80+ retro/vintage arcade games. For a $10 entrance fee (+tax), customers can enjoy classic video games from their youth. Food options and craft beers are also available for purchase, and the venue is open for parties and corporate events. |
