Plans for a 130,000-square-foot data center just south of Richardson’s CityLine development were confirmed Nov. 26 by real estate development and investment firm KDC, according to a press release.

The company will open a Technology and Innovation Hub focused on the telecommunications, retail and banking sectors in Richardson, TX and hire 500 workers in the state by 2020.

2018 will be remembered as the year that Richardson began to see significant absorption in large blocks of office space left in the wake of State Farm’s move from its temporary offices to its purpose-built campus at CityLine. Going into the 4th quarter, nearly 800,000 SF of office space had found new tenancy from companies like Genpact, Steward Health Care and Raytheon.
