REDP has hired two interns to help with economic development initiatives this fall.

Almost 5.4 million
square feet of office construction is underway in the D-FW area, according to a
new report by Cushman & Wakefield. Included is the 1.5 million-square-foot,
three-building State Farm Insurance campus under construction in Richardson.

Richardson’s Telecom Corridor has become the eighth location in the U.S. to receive International Association of Science Parks (IASP) membership.

Fobare Commercial has started development on Collins Center, a 153,000-square-foot building at 1225 Alma Road. The building will be the first speculative project in Richardson in more than a decade.

and technology services, is continuing to grow its
services delivery center in Richardson, Texas since
its opening in early April 2012. At the
center, Genpact has been providing skilled technology services, mortgage
origination support services and engineering services.

It’s only August, but if one just stopped at the accompanying list of year-to-date new/retained jobs and square feet of non-retail commercial occupancy, 2013 would rank as far and away the best year in the history of Richardson’s economy.
