North Dallas insurance company ACIG is moving its offices from North Dallas to Richardson.

The Richardson Economic Development Partnership (REDP) has been recognized as
one of only 32 economic development organizations worldwide accredited by IEDC
as an Accredited Economic Development Organization (AEDO). 

From a results perspective, the Richardson Economic
Development Partnership (REDP) concluded one of the most successful years in its
history in 2012. REDP logged 49
expansions/relocations, 5,512 new or
retained Richardson jobs and 1.9 million square feet of non-retail commercial space occupied. 

Restaurants continue to be the key focus of Richardson’s retail activities,
with 20 new and announced restaurant tenants in 2012. 

The City of Richardson selected SB Friedman Development Advisors of Chicago to assist with a market analysis and study of the under-performing E. Arapaho/Collins area. Friedman will give a summary of the team’s finding to the City Council on February 4.

As the Spring semester kicks off, both the University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas) and Richland College are drawing national notice as distinguished institutions.

Michael Skelton has planned an overseas economic development trip to Barcelona, Spain and the Provence and Cote d’Azure regions of France (French Telecom Valley) this spring. The goal of the trip is to promote Richardson’s telecom and wireless industries and recruit technology companies to Richardson.
