Culture in The CORE

The annual Culture in The CORE and Light Up Lockwood events will take place in a combined event on Saturday, Nov. 2. Culture in The CORE will run from 2:30-6:30 p.m. at Main Street Plaza, 105 S. Interurban St., and Light Up Lockwood will follow that evening from 7-9 p.m. at 500 Lockwood Dr.

Startup Runway

The City of Richardson joined representatives from Startup Runway in a ribbon cutting ceremony this morning celebrating the beginning of a strategic partnership to enhance international economic ties and foster continued innovation within The IQ® business community and throughout the city. The partnership includes several key elements designed to support Startup Runways mission of promoting the growth of India-based and other international businesses it represents.

Chris Shacklett

City Manager Don Magner has announced the appointment of Chris Shacklett as Richardsons Director of Economic Development. Shacklett has served as the Interim Director of Economic Development since February 2024.

The City of Richardson proudly announces its role in facilitating the relocation and expansion of Childress Engineering, a local provider of architectural design and engineering services. The firms transition from 1500 N. Greenville Ave. to 2505 N. Plano Rd. ensures the retention of high-quality jobs within the city and creates new opportunities in the professional services sector.

REDD India Trip

Richardson is strengthening its international business ties with Asia by sending two representatives to India this week. This visit is part of a strategic partnership with Startup Runway, a business that specializes in helping startup companies expand to the United States.

XL Pro Staffing & Consulting

The City of Richardson is pleased to announce its support for an economic development project that will bring significant site and building improvements at 305 S. Central Expressway. The project, spearheaded by XL Pro Staffing & Consulting, aims to enhance the property through extensive upgrades and modernization efforts.

Promenade North Shopping Center

The City of Richardson and SHOP Development have entered into a partnership agreement that will support planned upgrades at the Promenade Shopping Center. Located along Coit Road, south of Arapaho Road, the 177,000-square-foot retail development is one of the citys legacy shopping center destinations that benefits from high exposure to a large commercial office and residential customer base in the area, as well as significant daily traffic volumes from Coit Road commuters.

Alamo Drafthouse Closure Announcement

Like many in our community, the City was deeply saddened to see todays bankruptcy and closure announcement involving the franchised Alamo Drafthouse Cinema locations in North Texas including the Richardson Heights location, DFWs first Alamo Drafthouse.
