State Farm Insurance said Friday that it is expanding its customer service operations in the Dallas-Fort Worth area by adding a new call center in Richardson.

The 291,000-square foot facility will be at 1011 Galatyn Parkway, State Farm spokeswoman Patti Kelly said.

“Adding this location helps State Farm to gain efficiencies, be more cost-effective, and continue to provide outstanding customer service,” Kelly said in an email.

The call center will called the Galatyn Operations Center, she said.

Kelly said the company has not determined how many employees will work at the call center or when it will open.
