Huge Telecom Corridor office campus that houses State Farm is up for sale

As State Farm prepares to move into the CityLine development, the buildings they currently occupy is up for sale. The lease for State Farm’s three buildings of the 800,000 squar-foot Galatyn Park development expires in 2016 and 2018. Dallas-based investor Champion Parnters is selling the buildings and HFF LP are marketing them for sale.

Harman to Buy AMX for $365 Million

Harman International Industries Inc.will buy Richardson-based AMX LLC for $365 million from The Duchossois Group. 
AMX is a provider of enterprise control and automation systems, as well as audio and video switching and distribution services. The company was founded in 1982 and employs more than 600 people across its operations in 19 locations world-wide.

Mike Skelton receives U.S. Commercial Service Certificate of Achievement

U.S. & Foreign Commercial Service Deputy Assistant Secretary Antwaun Griffin awarded Mike Skelton, Director of the Mayor’s Office of International Business for the Richardson Economic Development Partnership, a Certificate of Achievement on April 1 in the U.S. & Foreign Commercial Service Ft. Worth office.

Raytheon announces new state-of-the-art office complex in [Richardson]

Raytheon today announced plans to move its Garland, Texas, operations to a new state-of-the-art office complex to be built at the CityLine development in Richardson, Texas. Raytheon will occupy 489,000 square feet in three buildings located near the intersection of President George Bush Turnpike and North Central Expressway (US 75), and will begin the move in the fourth quarter of 2015, depending on the construction schedule.

Plans for new mixed-use project in Richardson

Preliminary plans for Palisades, a 58-acre development planned on the west side of North Central Expressway near the Galatyn Park DART Station in Richardson, include single-family homes, apartments, high-rise office buildings, retail, restaurants and hotels built around a  4-acre park.

Richardson, McKinney rank in list of happiest mid-size cities

Ranked No. 5 on a list of the country’s happiest mid-size cities by real estate brokerage Movoto. Richardson’s high percentage of college educated adults factored into its high ranking. Cities were also ranked according to stress factors, personal income, safety, marriage rates, home ownership, and amenities. Richardson is the highest-rated Texas city on the list.

State Farm to expand Richardson regional hub with fourth tower

State Farm announced they plan to build a fourth tower at the CityLine development in north Richardson. With the additional tower, the Dallas-Fort Worth regional hub will include 2 million square feet of office space upon the completion of construction. Dallas developer KDC hopes to complete construction of the forth tower by early 2017.

Chili’s founder prepares to fire up new Ten 50 BBQ joint in Richardson

Richardson looks forward to taking a bite out of Ten 50 BBQ this summer. Chili’s founder Larry Lavine plans to open the restaurant at the corner of U.S. 75 and Arapaho Road in Richardson. The newly-refurbished building sits near the DART rail station and Alamo Drafthouse. The exclusively wood-fired meats will be served with homemade sides like maple sweet potato casserole and jalapeño pinto beans.
