Fobare Commercial has started development on Collins Center, a 153,000-square-foot building at 1225 Alma Road. The building will be the first speculative project in Richardson in more than a decade.

Genpact Limited, a global leader in business process management
and technology services, is continuing to grow its
services delivery center in Richardson, Texas since
its opening in early April 2012. At the
center, Genpact has been providing skilled technology services, mortgage
origination support services and engineering services.

It’s only August, but if one just stopped at the accompanying list of year-to-date new/retained jobs and square feet of non-retail commercial occupancy, 2013 would rank as far and away the best year in the history of Richardson’s economy.

Somewhat
lost among all the hubbub of financial service companies hiring hundreds of new
workers in Richardson is the fact that the Telecom Corridor® area’s technology
sector has continued to grow in both telecom and in a diversified array of
other technology verticals.

In its effort to attract foreign companies and open markets for Richardson businesses, Richardson’s international economic development initiative continues to gain worldwide attention and build foreign relationships.

The Austin-based dinner-and-movie chain theater opened its doors Thursday, August 8 after a formal ribbon cutting ceremony led by the Richardson Chamber of Commerce.

State Farm Insurance ceremonially broke ground
on its $1.5 billion mixed-use development in Richardson July 11. The City of Richardson
created a video to welcome our newest “neighbor” into the city.

Restaurants continue to choose Richardson sites to take advantage of the high daytime employment and access on major traffic arteries. With big job announcements from State Farm, United Healthcare, Extend Health and others, we anticipate continued growth in this retail sector.
