Since the Mayor’s Office for International Business kicked-off, REDP has developed a number of programs to recruit foreign-based companies and support their establishment activities once they arrive in Richardson. One such program is an economic development trip to Scandinavia.

Richardson added 22 restaurants in 2011, and four have already been announced in 2012.

The Richardson Economic Development Partnership is kicking
off a new business service initiative this spring. EDGE (Economic Development,
Growth & Expansion) is a completely confidential, no-cost program designed to match Richardson
businesses with the resources they need to grow, compete and succeed.

Genpact, LLC, a global leader in business process and technology management, has opened a services center in Richardson, Texas. The center could employ up to 200 people over the next 12 to 18 months.

Nearly 100 D-FW commercial real estate professionals attended the Richardson Broker-Developer Series data center breakfast on March 7. Digital Realty, Stream Data Centers and ViaWest sponsored the breakfast.

The Telecom Corridor turns 20 years old this year, and economic growth continues in Richardson with 16 projects involving 1,046 new or retained Richardson jobs, and 465,486 square feet of commercial office and flex space.

Richardson-based Wingstop’s sales are up 10.5 percent over the same quarter last year, marking more than eight consecutive years of positive sales. In addition, Wingstop has signed franchise agreements that will result in 58 new locations in the U.S.

UT Dallas launching a major $200 million fundraising campaign to reach its Tier One status goal. 

The City of Richardson has once again received the highest possible bond rating status from both Moody’s and Standard and Poor’s credit rating agencies.
