The Richardson Restaurant Park, a crop of up to seven restaurants north of Spring Valley Road, is to open next year, supplanting about a dozen businesses, including a past-its-prime motel.

GEICO, the fastest growing auto insurer in the country, is well on its way to writing its one millionth policy in Texas. To keep up with the demands of its growing policyholder base, GEICO is relocating its Dallas office to a larger location in Richardson, Texas.

Richardson’s economic development strategy of welcoming quality creators and users of technology produced the two biggest splashes of the summer and early fall months: RealPage, a Software-as-a-Service company that specializes in real estate; and insurance giant GEICO.

Restaurant activity continues to dominate Richardson’s retail landscape with new announcements and openings. Richardson’s newest restaurants include Tokyo Joe’s and Richardson Food Truck Park.

The Richardson Economic Development Partnership (REDP), in partnership with the Richardson Chamber of Commerce and Richardson Rotary Clubs, will honor 12 Richardson businesses that have achieved extraordinary success or made a significant investment in Richardson. These businesses will recognized at the Richardson EDGE awards luncheon Thursday, Nov. 12, at the Hilton Hotel Dallas Richardson.
