As we round the corner and head for home in 2014, the activity and excitement in Richardson has never been greater. State Farm’s local employment has already hit the 4,000 mark, and early next year the company will begin to occupy its gleaming new campus at CityLine. Over on the northeast side of CityLine, Raytheon’s 1,700-employee, 489,000 square-foot campus is well underway with anticipated occupancy sometime late next year. In addition to the two large campus projects, Richardson has seen quite a bit of recent expansion and relocation activity from technology-based companies.

Richardson is a special place. Its workforce, educational, business, governmental and cultural physical infrastructure are resources that enable many of its resident business to be more successful here than they would in other geographic locations. Just by being in Richardson, they enjoy an “edge.”  EDGE also stands for “Economic Development Growth & Expansion”, so it is a fitting name that we apply to the REDP’s efforts in the retention of Richardson’s existing companies.

The 50-year-old Dal-Rich Village shopping center at Coit and belt Line roads in Richardson is getting a new tenant, Richardson Mercantile.

MedeAnalytics, a California-based health-care analytics company, is relocating its North Texas data hub to Richardson.

It’s been an exciting summer in Richardson with new ownership on several shopping centers, new restaurant openings and remodeling projects underway.

Employees from the Richardson, Texas office of Yahoo! provided backpacks filled with school supplies to almost 400 Dallas/Fort Worth-area families in need. 

Nearly 100 brokers of the Dallas-Fort Worth broker community attended the Richardson Broker-Developer lunch at Alamo Drafthouse on August 14.
