The Mayor’s Office of International Business hosted
34 foreign delegations in Richardson in 2013. The
delegations represented 30 different countries and more than 75 foreign company
executives, local foreign government officials, investors and educational
officials.

Lauren Glover joined the REDP team this January as marketing intern. Lauren’s primary focus will be developing a social media marketing plan pertaining to two California economic development trips that REDP will take this year.

State Farm Insurance is getting ready for a rapid expansion into North Texas, with plans to hire up to 700 employees in the near future at its Dallas-Fort Worth operations. The employees will be part of a larger workforce for State Farm, which is expected to hire upwards of 8,000 employees when its new regional customer center in Richardson is fully operational. 

Richardson-based Alliance Architects, Inc. is pleased to announce the recent completion of the new 880,000 square foot distribution facility for Restoration Hardware. Alliance Architects completed the architectural design for the facility.

Richardson-based Alliance Architects, has completed shell and interior design services for DataBank’s new facility in Richardson.

More retail is on the board for KDC’s CityLine project, and a deal is in the works with Raytheon to build a 600,000-square-foot office campus at the southwest corner of Wyndham Lane and the Bush Turnpike.

Mike Skelton, Director of the Mayor’s Office of International Business, recently look an economic development trip to Brazil to attend the International Association of Science Parks (IASP) conference and make connections with Brazilian business executives, organizations and companies.

There is increasing interest in Richardson retail development due to the massive State Farm project and other areas working to attract new tenants.

Nearly 100 Dallas-Ft. Worth commercial real estate professionals attended the Richardson Chamber of Commerce Broker-Developer Halloween Special lunch on October 31. Custer Court hosted and sponsored the event at 501 W. President George Bush Hwy.
